First Launch of “.商标”Domain Name Registry in INTA

The 137th International Trademark Association Annual Meeting was held on 2-6th May in San Diego, California, United Stated.

The International Trademark Association (INTA) was established in November 1878 in New York City. The International Trademark Association (INTA) is the global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce.

Welcome Reception

According to INTA after-show review, 2015 was a great year that attracting 9,820 intellectual property professionals from 150 countries. Particularly, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (UPSTO) were also part of executive attendees. Various topics of round table, academic seminar, welcome cocktail, business dinner, etc, were served beside main exhibition and those activities was very much more than past. As the only one authorized by ICANN and functioned as “internet + trademark”, ICANN honored “.商标” Domain Name Registry with invitation attending the 137th INTA Annual Meeting with the purpose to discuss and share what the issue of “.商标” using and legal protection.

During the 4day exhibition, “.商标” Domain Name Registry gave about its mission and policy to numbers of international enterprises result in hundreds of enquiries including “TOYS ‘R’US” and “ Calvin Klein”. Lawyers from international and Mainland China were more interested in the strategies and methods of “.商标” how to have priority to protecting trademark and brand from online to offline.
